Religious Director
Mufti Nawaz Ahmed Khan, a Bay Area native, completed his Tahfeedh al-Quran (memorization of the Noble Quran) alongside his high school diploma in Folsom, CA. Over the next decade, he studied under esteemed scholars in South Africa, earning numerous Ijazaat (formal authorizations or diplomas), regarded as the equivalent of a Master's degree. His areas of expertise include Fiqh, Hadith, Aqeedah, Tafsir, Usul, Arabic Grammar, Rhetoric, Etymology, and Spirituality. He also received Ijazah with Isnad in the "Sihah Sittah"—the six most authentic collections of Hadith.Now residing in Milpitas, CA, Mufti Nawaz serves as our Religious Director, dedicated to leading the community and fostering spiritual growth.
Imam
Imam Aziz ur Rahman began his quest for Islamic knowledge at the age of 14, travelling to Pakistan to complete Tahfeedh al Quran by the age of 17. He then spent a year at Darul Uloom Zakariyya in South Africa, before moving to Darul Uloom Karachi - Pakistan, under the guidance of Mufti Taqi Usmani. At Darul Uloom Karachi he spent eight years under the mentorship of esteemed teachers, completed a saba’h ‘asharah course, mastering ten different modes of Quranic recitation, and achieved what is equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Islamic sciences.Imaam Aziz served as a Quran Instructor in Stockton, CA, from 2011 to 2015. He joined Masjid Darus Salaam as a Quran instructor in 2017, and was appointed as the Imaam in 2019. He resides in Milpitas CA and continues to dedicate himself to serving the community as our daily Imam.
Academic Director
Mufti Saad Khan, a Bay Area native, completed Tahdeefh al Quran (memorization of the Noble Quran) in Fremont, CA. He then pursued higher Islamic education in South Africa for seven years, earning numerous Ijazaat (formal authorizations or diplomas), which are regarded as equivalent to a Master's degree in major Islamic sciences. His expertise spans Fiqh, Hadith, Aqeedah, Tafsir, Usul, Arabic Grammar, Rhetoric, Etymology, and Spirituality. Residing in Milpitas, CA, Mufti Saad serves as our Academic Director, dedicated to advancing Islamic knowledge through academic programs, classes, and community events.
Hifdh Director
Shaykh Osama Mehter began his quest for Islamic Knowledge with the memorization of the Noble Quran from the age of 12 in Toronto, Canada. Upon completing the memorization of the Noble Quran he completed a rigorous 7 year course earning ijaazaat (formal authorizations/diplomas) in Hadith, Tafseer, Fiqh, Quran. The course covered the majority of the Islamic Sciences such as; Usul, Arabic Grammar, Rhetoric, Etymology, and Spirituality. Thereafter Shaykh Osama travelled to South Africa to earn a sanad/ijaazah in the Noble Quran along with earning certificates in counselling and teaching. Shaykh Osama has been serving various Muslim communities across North America from 2011; Toronto, Detroit (Hifdh Director at Miftaah Institute), and Bay Area.
